Since September 2018, Antonia Nyström Sandman is Chair of the HELCOM Expert Network on Benthic habitats, EN BENTHIC. In November she chaired her first meeting.
Over the past years, AquaBiota has participated in HELCOM’s work on the marine environment. We have contributed to the HELCOM Underwater Biotope classification, the HELCOM Red List and written recommendations and guidelines for benthic habitat monitoring. On behalf of the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, Antonia Nyström Sandman is Chair of the HELCOM Expert Network on Benthic habitats, EN BENTHIC since September 2018. She chaired her first meeting in Helsinki November 14-15. In the capacity of Chair, Antonia also represents HELCOM in the European Commission Technical Group on seabed habitats and sea-floor integrity, TG Seabed.
