Antonia works with various aspects of linkages between the spatial distribution of marine organisms and habitats and marine management. Amongst other things, she works with species distribution modelling, development of indicators for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive, green infrastructure as well as human pressures and ecosystem services in a spatial context. Since 2018 Antonia chairs the HELCOM Expert Network on Benthic Habitats and Biotopes. She received her PhD in marine ecology at Stockholm University in 2011. Her thesis focused on the spatial and temporal distribution of phytobenthic species in the Baltic Sea.
