At the 27-28 of January the final conference MARMONI “Innovative indicators, methods, monitoring & assessment of marine biodiversity in the Baltic Sea” will take place in Jurmala, Estonia. During the conference the main results of the project will be presented, as well as the recommendations to marine managers based on the results. Among other topics the following will be addressed: Indicators on biological diversity & survey methods, relation between GES and FCS, a spatial approach to marine monitoring & management, assessment of costs for building a compliant marine monitoring programme, and Marine biodiversity assessment. There will also be a presentation on HELCOM HOLAS – Holistic Assessment of the Baltic Sea Environment 2015.

Back-to-back to the MARMONI final conference we will also conduct a meeting of the HELCOM Benthic Habitat Working Group led by Georg Martin, Estonian Marine Institute; a meeting on seabirds in frame of HELCOM BALSAM and HELCOM CORESET led by Ainars Aunins, Latvian Fund for Nature.
